It’s ACC Media Day, and talking season is heating up—with an early injury update on quarterback Carson Beck.

Miami head coach Mario Cristobal offered a positive update on Beck’s status during his appearance on The Joe Rose Show this morning.

Here’s what Cristobal had to say:

“In spring ball, he was limited—didn’t get to do much. But within a week and a half to two weeks after spring, he’s been full-go and has participated fully in everything we’ve done. Tremendous competition, accurate arm, strong legs, strong runner, excellent human being. We feel we’re getting the best version of Carson Beck.”

Beck emerged as one of the top quarterbacks in the country in 2023, throwing for 3,941 yards, 24 touchdowns, and just 6 interceptions, averaging 9.5 yards per attempt. In 2024, he followed that up with 3,485 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.

Over the past two seasons, Beck has compiled a 24-3 record as a starter, passing for 7,426 yards with a 68.4% completion rate, 52 touchdowns, and 18 interceptions.

A ton of pressure on him and the offense to come out performing. If we get ahead early ND won't be able to lean on their run game against a new D weak at DT for an easy win.

Appreciate the posts young man, but you might want to change the wording of your thread title. At first glance, a few people thought the season was over before it even began.

He's elite. Easily top 5 QB in the nation.

I am amazed at how underappreciated Beck is given the media attention he had at Georgia. I really didn't want to like him last year watching Georgia games, and loved watching him throw a couple dumb picks. But overall, I couldn't help but be super impressed by Beck. Felt he was better than pretty much every other guy getting hyped up last season not named Ward (who also threw a couple dumb picks). I would be surprised if Beck doesn't go first round, and wouldn't be at all surprised if he's #1 like Ward.

All that is to say, we will still be scoring a lot of points this season, and the QB will not be the reason we lose any game.

Beck's comeback vs Bama last year was terrific. His 4th quarter was bonkers. If Colby Young wasn't a ***** and let a smaller DB body him up, UGA walks out of there with the W.

Georgia is in for a surprise this year. The drop off from Beck to Stockton is gonna be funny to watch.
They got a crappy qb but surrounded him with some better receivers. Maybe they’re hoping for a net neutral.

Any OL recruited and coached by Searels will be crap, and that OC is nothing special.

Didn’t mention the line only receivers. But point taken and agreed with. The different between Stacy here and there is that Kirby is going to always land hogs. They just won’t get coached up.
