Malik Reneau cracks ESPN's list of the top 50 college basketball players so far this season
Miami Hurricanes forward Malik Reneau is officially getting national love.
ESPN’s Jeff Borzello and Myron Medcalf released their midseason list of the top 50 players in college basketball, and Miami had one name make the cut.
Reneau has put together a breakout 2025–26 season, emerging as one of the Hurricanes’ most reliable weapons on both ends of the floor. Night after night, he’s been the steady presence Miami leans on in the frontcourt.
The numbers back it up. Reneau is averaging 19.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game while shooting an efficient 57 percent from the field.
Here’s what ESPN had to say about Reneau:
Reneau (19.7 points, 6.5 rebounds) took 674 shots near the rim last season at Indiana, per Synergy Sports. With 11 games to go in this campaign at Miami, the 6-9 forward has already taken 617 such shots and made 65% of them. It's clear he has found his bread and butter at Miami, changing the course of his career as well as coach Jai Lucas' debut season, which could end with the program's first NCAA tournament appearance since 2023. -- Medcalf
