Louisville Cardinals will be without guard Mikel Brown Jr. during the ACC Tournament...

if you can say, this is huge news for Jai Lucas's Miami Hurricanes. The Hurricanes will more than likely play the Cardinals if the Cards can get past the SMU Mustangs today.

If SMU were to beat Louisville, it gives Miami even more confidence heading into the game tomorrow, the Hurricanes already shown they can beat the Mustangs, as the Hurricanes handled SMU by double digits. Louisville is a hot team heading into March, while the Mustangs of SMU fell off the map of making the NCAA Tournament, after being considered a bubble team last month.

It was reported last week, Brown would miss his second straight game with back pain when Miami played Louisville last week. Earlier in the season, the injury also forced him to miss eight games in the middle of the year. Now he is expected to sit out the entire ACC Tournament.

If you don’t understand how big of a loss this is for Louisville, just look at Brown’s numbers from this season:

Brown is averaging 18.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game, while shooting 41.0% from the field and 34.4% from beyond the arc.

Can the Cards beat the Hurricanes twice? Who knows, but first they have to get past SMU without their best guard on the floor.

Good read. I wouldn't say Louisville is a hot team. They are 3-3 in their last 6. They were hot from 3 at 50% against Miami. That was 14% above their season average.

Louisville 2/14 from 3 against SMU at the half. If only Miami sees that 😎
