The Summer League has been underway for all NBA teams, and it's now in full swing, with former Miami Hurricane Kyshawn George also participating.
George has been somewhat dominant in the Summer League, having shown significant improvement throughout the offseason, according to the Wizards GM, Will Dawkins.
Here is what Dawkins had to say about George:
"He might have had the best summer so far out of all our guys — physically and in terms of the confidence he's put into his game. He’s someone we envision playing on the ball in the second half of the season. Just like Alex Sara, he turned it on," said Dawkins.
George finished yesterday’s game by stuffing the stat sheet — recording 10 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and five steals. As the GM noted, he’s also a strong defender.
So far, George has played in two Summer League games. In yesterday’s win over the Nets, he made an all-around impact. He also had a standout performance in the previous game against the Rockets. Despite the loss, he led the team in scoring with 24 points, along with seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals. He shot 10-of-18 from the field and 3-of-9 from beyond the arc.
With his big-time performances in the two summer league games, the expectation for George heading into the upcoming season with the Wizards is quickly rising.
