Inexcusable performance by players and coaches. This was the largest margin of defeat since the 48-0 loss to UVA in the final game in the Orange Bowl. Let that **** marinate for a while. In 2 games this defense has given up 84 points and 1,035 yards. These were my keys to the game from my gameday post:

1. Can we stop/contain Collin Klein?

Lulz...no. Let me rattle off some numbers:

Passing - 9/11 for 210 yards 1 TD 1 INT
Rushing - 22 carries 64 yards 3 TD

Pathetic.

2. Can the defense at least get off the field on 3rd and long?

Kansas State was 8/11 on 3rd downs.

3. Can Duke have a repeat performance from last week?

Other than a good Kick Off return with less than 5 minutes left in the game, Duke reeeeealllyy looked like a freshman today. 7 carries for 22 yards and a couple of really bad drops.

4. Can the offense get off to a good start?

Once again we fell into a 14-0 hole midway through the 1st quarter. Unacceptable.

AP writer Tim Reynolds was in your mouth all day live tweeting the game:

The 56 points allowed by Miami this season (with 2-plus quarters left today) are most allowed by Hurricanes in first two weeks since 1975.

Yikes...

Tim Reynolds ‏@ByTimReynolds
And that is the most points ever allowed by a Miami Hurricanes team in the first two weeks of a season. Previous record was 60 in 1972.
For ***** sake...

Tim Reynolds ‏@ByTimReynolds
This is Miami's 200th game since start of 1996 season. Every team in first 199 has punted at least once. KSU so far today: 0.
We finally forced them to punt when Kansas St.'s 3rd string QB couldn't keep a drive going with less than 2 minutes left in the game.

Tim Reynolds ‏@ByTimReynolds
Miami has allowed 1,035 yards in first two games. Most in consecutive games since 1,168 in last two games of 1998 season.

I'm not a ******, so I'm not doing a possession by possession breakdown this week. This game was over after the first 10 minutes. On their opening possession, Kansas state marched right down the field on 13 plays taking up 6:47 of time off the clock. Klein called his own number 3 times on the drive on 3rd and short. The 3rd and final time was for TD and a 7-0 lead.

After the commercial break that followed the score, the FX crew flashed the 3 "impact players" for UM in the game. Those 3 players to them were, Duke Johnson, Olsen Pierre, and Kacey Rogers.

Allen Hurns made 2 really big catches on our first drive. However, he hit his head on the turf when he was tackled on his second catch and was motionless for a while. He walked off the field and never returned to the game. It was later mentioned by the TV crew that he was undergoing a concussion test on the sideline. Not good. 3 plays later, Eduardo Clements coughs up the ball on a 3rd and short run. He had gained the necessary yardage to move the chains, but the ball was stripped from him as he was being tackled. Some guy named Arthur Brown was there to recover the fumble.

Collin Klein drives right down the field and scores his 2nd of 3 rushing TD's on the day. 14-0 Kansas St.

That was the ball game really. We couldn't stop them if our lives depended on it, and we couldn't move the ball with any consistency. Now, Morris played OK. Clive Walford had a big catch and run of 56 yards. Brandon McGee had a real athletic interception in the second half. Perryman and Eddie Johnson had OK games too. But at no time, did I ever feel we had a chance in this game after we went down 14-0. This was me in the second half:

Something needs to be fixed now.

Kansas State did what they were supposed to do.... Destroy a terrible team at home. Big props to KSU for not playing down and getting my hopes up. We suck! At least I don't have to watch any more games this season.More family time... My wife was thrilled we got thrashed.

Those Tim Reynolds stats.......

I feel like those stats alone are grounds to fire D'Onofrio right this second.

This is what we can expect from the defense. Not what I expect from the offense.
