Jon Rothstein Lists Miami In The Top-20 Way-Too-Early College Basketball Rankings
We are now two weeks removed from the National Championship game where the Michigan Wolverines defeated the UConn Huskies to secure the 2026 National Championship trophy. It's now the last day to enter the transfer portal, this is where teams are now moving on from the 2025-26 season and are now focusing on the offseason for the 2026-27 season.
With that, national analyst Jon Rothstein released his top-45 teams in college basketball this morning; the Miami Hurricanes were ranked in the top-20.
Jon Rothstein has just dropped his new rankings this morning, placing the Hurricanes at No. 18 in the country with just seven players, and he also shared his projected starting five:
• G Acaden Lewis
• G Dante Allen
• F Shelton Henderson
• F Caleb Gaskins
• C Somto Cyril
Miami is not just rebuilding, the Hurricanes are building on from what they had last year. Miami lost seniors Tre Donaldson, Malik Reneau, and Ernest Udeh. However, Jai Lucas has already done an incredible job in the transfer portal adding Acaden Lewis, Somto Cyril, and DeSean Goode.
Rothstein has only two other ACC programs ahead of the Hurricanes with 2025-26 ACC conference champion Duke at No. 10, and Virginia at the No. 7 spot. Louisville ranks behind the Hurricanes at No. 19, followed by North Carolina (20).
