If you happen to be out in the Arctic Ocean over the next few days, be on the lookout for former Miami Hurricane basketball and football player, Jimmy Graham. The former star is currently partaking in the Arctic Challenge with three other individuals.
Graham and his team are currently rowing across the Arctic Ocean for the next week and half to three weeks to complete the 600 nautical mile challenge. They row in two hour intervals, 24 hours a day and sleep for 90 minutes individually at a time.
The mission behind this is to raise money for a pair of charities in New Orleans: Laureus Sport For Good USA, which provides grants to create sports opportunities for disadvantaged youth and the Covenant House, which provides shelter and service to homeless youth.
The word record for this voyage is currently just over 15 days, Graham and his team are hoping to break the record. As NFL players are about to embark on hot days of training camp, Graham is in the rigid environment of the Arctic in polar opposite temperature and weather.
