The ACC Coach of the Year has been announced, and Miami Hurricanes head coach Jai Lucas was left out of it, and the Hurricanes fans are coming after the ACC.

Instead, the award went to Jon Scheyer the head mens basketball coach at the Duke Blue Devils, who Jai Lucas worked under the year prior of Miami.

Yes, Duke is one of the best teams in the country, but it’s hard to ignore what Lucas has done with the Miami this season. After taking over a team that went 7–24 last year, Lucas had Miami just one win away from the winningest regular season in program history.

Despite that turnaround, the media voted Scheyer as Coach of the Year with 51 votes, while Lucas finished second with 19 votes.

It's not the end of the world for this award. However, the ACC just robbed the Hurricanes coach.

Hard to believe Lucas didn’t get the nod here.

He definitely did more with less. Duke is always the most talented team in the conference and that was the fact before Scheyer took over. He inherited a machine and Lucas is building one.

Oh wow - Scheyer is a great coach but he just made the Final Four last year. I’m not seeing where he overachievement comes from whereas Miami definitely showed massive improvement from a year ago. ACC has to be better than this, or media or whomever votes for this award smh

The Duke coach is the epitome of being born on third base and celebrating like you hit a home run.

You know they punished Lucas because of the Mensah situation and, no, I'm not kidding.
