Four University of Miami baseball players earned Perfect Game Midseason All-America honors, the organization announced Wednesday. Freshmen Alonzo Alvarez and Dylan Dubovik were both named Freshman First Team All-Americans. Daniel Cuvet earned Second Team honors as a designated hitter, while Derek Williams was named to the Third Team in the outfield.
Alvarez has appeared in 25 games and is batting .342 with 26 hits, eight doubles, two home runs and 18 RBI. He holds a .579 slugging percentage and has recorded a .981 fielding percentage across 104 chances behind the plate.
Dubovik has played in 24 games and is hitting .321 with 25 hits, four doubles, five home runs and 21 RBI. He has scored 17 runs and owns a .364 on-base percentage. His selection marks his second midseason honor, as he was also named to the Baseball America Freshman of the Year Midseason Watch List.
Cuvet is batting .311 across 29 games with 33 hits, nine doubles, 10 home runs and 36 RBI. He leads the team with 79 total bases and carries a .679 slugging percentage.
Williams has started all 29 games and is batting .415 with 44 hits, 11 doubles, 10 home runs and 47 RBI. He has totaled 88 bases while posting an .830 slugging percentage and a .500 on-base percentage.
Miami will return to Mark Light Field this weekend for a three-game ACC series against Virginia Tech, beginning Friday at 7 p.m. First pitch will air on ACCNX with radio coverage available on WVUM 90.5 FM.
