Former Miami Transfer Guard AJ Staton-McCray Commits To Seton Hall

AJ Staton-McCray, a former guard for the Miami Hurricanes who transferred from the Samford Bulldogs, has joined Seton Hall in the Big East.

The 6'5", 200-pound Staton-McCray is leaving to go to Seton Hall after playing 17 out of 31 games in his only season in Coral Gables. He averaged 7.3 points, plus 2.4 rebounds and 1 steal per game during the 2024-25 season at Miami.

McCray had a shooting percentage of 40.4 from the floor, 32.3 from three-point range, and 82.9 from the free throw line.

During his time at Samford before transferring to Miami, he averaged 11.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, starting in 27 of their 31 games in the 2023-24 season.
