Last night, five-star edge rusher Jalanie George announced that he is down to four schools: Auburn, Miami, Washington, and Wisconsin. He is also set to make a college decision on Thursday, October 1st.
The 6-foot-3, 255-pound edge rusher plays for Desert Edge High School in (Goodyear, Ariz.). According to the On3 rankings, he is currently viewed as a five-star prospect. The site ranks as the nation's No. 23 overall player in the 2028 class, No. 6 among edge rushers, and No. 2 in Arizona.
The Desert Edge Scorpions are currently 3-1 on the season. During four contests, George has recorded a total of 24 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, and one sack. During his junior season, he recorded 54 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, two pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
According to the On3 RPM, the Washington Huskies currently have the traction to land him. The Auburn Tigers are also in contention for the five-star prospect after hosting him this past weekend. Both teams are fairly new to his recruitment, having offering him in January. The Hurricanes hosted him in June for the Hurricanes Legends Camp.
The Hurricanes have two commits in the 2028 recruiting class: three-star quarterback Knox Annis and four-star offensive tackles Kweli Fielder. Adding someone like George to the class would mark another top commit for defensive line Coach Jason Taylor. Where do you think George chooses?
