FINAL: Miami WBB Defeated, 79-49, at Georgia Tech in Regular Season Finale

The Miami women’s basketball team dropped to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in a 79-49 decision at McCamish Pavilion on Sunday afternoon. The 30-point loss, marks Miami’s largest deficit of the 2025-26 season.

Miami moves to 16–13 overall and 8–10 in ACC play, while Georgia Tech improves to 13–17 overall and 8–10 in conference action.

The Canes faced challenges on both ends of the court and left Georgia Tech’s Talayah Walker unanswered as she tied her career high in scoring with 33 points. Miami also struggled to convert in the paint going 8-of-18 for layups and waws outrebounded 42-38.

Miami had two players in double figures, led by Gal Raviv with 11 points. Ahnay Adams followed with 10 points and Ra Shaya Kyle was UM’s leading rebounder with seven of the Canes 38 boards.

The Yellow Jackets scored the game’s first seven points, holding Miami scoreless for nearly two minutes. Kyle put UM on the board with a bucket in the paint, followed by a driving layup from Kimpson. Georgia Tech’s Talayah Walker led all scorers early, tallying 10 points in under five minutes to keep GT ahead, 21–10, at the first timeout. Coming out of the break, Georgia Tech extended its 7–0 scoring run to 12-0 before Miami added one more basket to close the quarter trailing, 26–12.

Georgia Tech opened the second period with two quick baskets before Adams knocked down a three-pointer to restart Miami’s offense. From there, Miami increased its defensive pressure, forcing five turnovers, including two steals by Adams. She also led UM offensively in the quarter, scoring five of Miami’s 12 points. The Yellow Jackets outscored Miami in both opening periods, sending UM into halftime trailing, 45–24.

Unlike the first two quarters, Miami posted the first basket of the period with Raviv on the charity stripe. Georgia Tech quickly responded with an 8–0 run to extend its lead to 53–26, its largest margin at that point. The Yellow Jackets continued to pull away, pushing their advantage to as much as 39 points at 70–31 before Miami scored the final basket of the quarter to make it 70–33.

The Hurricanes were held to a game-low nine points in the third quarter, while the Yellow Jackets added 25 to further widen the gap.

Miami entered the final quarter facing a steep challenge, trailing by 37 points. The Hurricanes continued to compete, putting together their largest run of the game with a 12–1 scoring stretch midway through the fourth period. The surge decreased the deficit into the 20s at 73–45, but Georgia Tech maintained control in the final minutes and secured a 79–49 victory.

Miami’s matchup at Georgia Tech closed out the 2025–26 regular season slate. The Canes will now travel to Duluth, Ga., and await their official seeding for the ACC Tournament. The postseason conference tournament will be held from Mar. 4-8 at Gas South Arena and will feature the top 14 teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference.

It's safe to say that the Cullop experiment has been a miserable failure. For all of our "Fans" that didn't appreciate Coach Meier, I hope you are enjoying this crap.

This team is poorly coached, they have no idea what they are supposed to do and I don't believe that Cullop puts this team in position to succeed. Substitution patterns make no sense whatsoever, young players aren't allowed to develop, and the upperclassmen look like they are mailing it in.
