FINAL: Kyle Drops Career-Best 28 as Miami WBB Dominates Kennesaw State 85–55
The University of Miami women’s basketball team defeated Kennesaw State, 85–55, behind a dominant performance from Ra Shaya Kyle, who finished with 28 points and 10 rebounds. Two other Hurricanes scored in double figures in Sunday’s home victory, helping Miami secure its eighth win of the 2025–26 season.
Miami now stands at 8–4 overall and 1–1 in ACC play, while Kennesaw State drops to 6–4 and 0–0 in CUSA.
The Hurricanes opened the game on a 15–2 run to set the tone early. Ahnay Adams led the offense with six of Miami’s first 15 points, while Kyle controlled the glass with five rebounds. Miami shot 42.9 percent from the field and outrebounded the Owls 15–6, building a 21–11 lead heading into the second quarter.
Kennesaw State opened the second period with back-to-back baskets to cut the deficit to 21–16 with 8:34 remaining. Miami responded with an 11–0 run highlighted by two threes from Vittoria Blasigh and another from Amarachi Kimpson. Adams added two steals as the Hurricanes forced seven Owl turnovers in the period. Blasigh led Miami at the break with nine points and three rebounds, giving the Canes a 39–22 halftime advantage.
Miami struggled to find an offensive rhythm early in the third quarter, shooting just 2-of-12 from the field (16.7%) over the first seven minutes. However, the Hurricanes capitalized at the free-throw line, scoring 13 of their 22 third-quarter points there, including seven from Kyle, to extend the lead to 61–33 heading into the fourth.
Simone Pelish paced Miami in the final period with eight of the team’s 24 points. The Hurricanes shot a game-high 90 percent from the field and outrebounded the Owls 9–3 to secure the 30-point victory.
Miami will close out its nonconference slate next Sunday, Dec. 28, against Stetson. Tipoff at the Watsco Center is set for 2 p.m., with coverage on ACCN.
