Elite 2028 four-star safety CJ Craig-James wrapped up his official visits of the summer to the schools pursuing him. Now, as he sits back and waits for his junior season to approach, we now have a clear view on what teams are pursuing him the hardest.
Craig-James told CanesInSight that there are currently five schools recruiting him the hardest for him to commit to their school: "Notre Dame, Oregon, Bama, Miami, and Texas," stated Craig-James. He currently holds a total of 45 offers as he is one of the most highly sought-after recruits in his cycle.
According to the 247Sports Composite Recruiting Rankings, he is currently viewed as a four-star prospect. He ranks among the top-100 in the nation, No. 77 overall prospect, No. 7 safety, and No. 6 player out of Alabama.
He expressed that the Hurricanes stand among the top three schools in his recruitment: [Miami stands] top three for sure," stated Craig-James. He noted that he plans to release his top-10 schools in four-to-five weeks.
The 6-foot-3, 185-pound four-star safety shared that he will be in attendance for the Miami Hurricanes game against the Florida State Seminoles. During in the month of June, he was on campus for the Hurricanes' yearly Legends Camp event.
At Miami, defensive back coach Will Harries utilizes three safeties spots on the field and Craig-James visioning himself fitting into the defense: "I think Coach Will Harris can plug me into any of the three safeties spots on the field that Miami uses," said Craig-James.
He said Miami's winning culture is what separates the Hurricanes from other schools: "Their winning tradition, the staff and how the alumni still pour into the program."
This past season at Parker High School, he recorded a total of 37 tackles, two pass breakups, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and four interceptions. Check out CJ's film down below:
