New Hurricanes quarterback Darian Mensah arrived on campus with a chip on his shoulder. The new star studded Hurricanes quarterback was under recruited his whole entire life, and it's now his time to shine at the biggest level with the Hurricanes.

Mensah has his own YouTube channel, where he released his first video in Miami as he and his Hurricanes squad prepare for spring practice. During the video, he was being interviewed and said Miami is getting a winner in him.

This is where Mensah said he is coming into this season with a big chip on his shoulder, as he said he has been under recruited his whole life:

Here is what he said fully:

“Miami is getting a winner out of me. I got a big chip on my shoulder. I’ve been under recruited my whole life, always was an underdog, so just go out there and prove everybody wrong, and prove myself right,” said Mensah.

Before arriving at Miami, he signed and committed to play football at Tulane. During the 2024 season, he starting all 13 games and threw for 2,723 yards, 22 touchdowns, and only six picks.

He took it up another notch after transferring to Duke to play for Manny Diaz in 2025. Mensah threw for nearly 4,000 yards, 34 touchdowns, and again just six interceptions, with his completion rate sitting around 67 percent.

Now, Mensah is on the biggest stage of it all with the Miami Hurricanes. He now has the pieces with him, and he is ready to compete for a national championship.

He is about to be the star of the show. They're already attacking down field early in Spring. Give me 2 portal QB's to cover every season the way several schools are already doing. Just get it wrapped up early. I want to play for Championship's.
