Canes versus the Boilermakers?

Goodmorning folks! Miami has an early one today, as the Hurricanes of Miami will take on the No. 2 seed in the Purdue Boilermakers in the Round of 32 game today.

The Hurricanes have a tall task at hand. Far from Missouri, who Miami beat 80-66 on Friday, the Canes will have to take a step forward to play another week in the NCAA Tournament.

Purdue leads the all-time series 3-2 against Miami, with wins in December 1987 (110-82), the 1999 NCAA Tournament (73-63), and the 2011 ACC/Big Ten Challenge (76-65), but Miami won the most recent matchup in 2020.

▪ Miami is making its 13th appearance in the Big Dance and first since its historic run to the Final Four in 2023.

▪ Malik Reneau, who spent the last three seasons at Indiana, has gone up against the Boilermakers six times in his career. Last season, he had his best game against Purdue, going 7-of-7 from the field while scoring 15 points to og along with six rebounds and four assists.
▪ Last season at Michigan, Tre Donaldson squared off against Purdue three times as he averaged 12.0 points and was 8-of-16 from 3-point range.
