Now it’s time for the Hurricanes to put work on the hardwood today, as day two tips off, Jai Lucas looking for his first-ever March Madness win with his team set to take on No. 10 seed Missouri in St. Louis, tip-off scheduled for 10:10 PM ET CT.

Miami Vs. Virginia Odds

Your University of Miami Hurricanes are the No. 7 seed in the West Region of the NCAA Tournament and will face the No. 10 seed Missouri Tigers in the first round on Friday. Oddsmakers favor Miami, opening as a 2.5-point favorite on FanDuel Sportsbook. Point total and moneyline odds are not yet available.

This will be the first meeting between Miami and Missouri since 2002. Missouri finished the season 20-12, averaging 79.7 points per game on 49% shooting and 35% from three, while allowing 75.3 points per game. Senior guard Mark Mitchell leads the Tigers with 18.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.

If Miami wins, they would face the winner of No. 2 seed Purdue (27-8) and No. 15 seed Queens (21-13). Missouri leads the all-time series 1-0, winning the 2002 matchup.

MIAMI IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT


▪ Miami is making its 13th appearance in the Big Dance and first since its historic run to the Final Four in 2023.
▪ The Hurricanes hold a 15-12 overall record in the tournament and are 7-5 in the first round.
▪ This is the second time the Hurricanes have been named a No. 7 seed. Miami was the seventh seed in the South Region of the 2008 NCAA Tournament in which it defeated St. Mary’s, 78-64, in the first round before falling to No. 2 Texas, 75-72.
▪ The Hurricanes hold a 2-0 record against SEC opponents in the Big Dance.
▪ Miami is 0-1 against Missouri in the NCAA Tournament, falling to the Tigers, 93-80, in the first round in 2002.

ALL-ACC CANES

▪ After leading Miami to the largest turnaround in Division I this season, Malik Reneau, Tre Donaldson and Ernest Udeh Jr. garnered All-ACC honors.
▪ Reneau was named to the All-ACC First Team as the Miami native leads the team in scoring at 19.0 points per game to go along with 6.6 rebounds.
▪ Donaldson was voted to the All-ACC Second Team after averaging 16.8 points, 5.9 assists and 1.3 steals per game.
▪ Udeh Jr. was voted to the All-ACC Defensive Team as the rim protector swatted 41 shots and was second in the league in rebounding at 9.4 per game.
