Caleb Holt Transfers to Prolific Prep, NIL Deal with Adidas Could Influence Recruitment
Caleb Holt, a highly regarded prospect from Alabama who played last season at Grayson High School in Georgia, has announced his transfer to Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Holt is widely considered a top-five national recruit by all major scouting services. In late May, he signed a Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deal with Adidas, that has a reported valuation of $1.3 million.
His move to Prolific Prep—an Adidas sponsored program —alongside his NIL partnership with the brand, could make the University of Miami a more realistic college destination. While the Hurricanes are not currently a major player in Holt’s recruitment, proximity and brand alignment may lead to increased involvement. Although an Adidas NIL deal does not guarantee he will attend an Adidas-affiliated school, it certainly increases the possibility.
At this stage, Kansas appears to be the frontrunner in Holt’s recruitment if he were to attend an Adidas school. However, if Miami can field a winning team and Jai Lucas’ system is guard friendly, the Hurricanes could emerge as a serious contender. Should Holt ultimately choose a Nike-affiliated program, Alabama would likely be his destination.
Another Adidas school to monitor is NC State. Although they are not heavily involved at present, a successful season under new head coach Will Wade could change that dynamic—especially considering Wade’s recruiting ability and his history of making strong *** offers.
