Buckeyes dealing with O-line injury ahead of Miami game

Ohio State has been one of the most dominant teams in the trenches this season, but the Buckeyes will be shorthanded up front when they face Miami next Wednesday.

Head coach Ryan Day confirmed, via Dave Biddle, that starting right guard Tegra Tshabola will miss the next couple of weeks with an injury. In his place, Gabe Van Sickle and Josh Padilla are expected to split reps at right guard against the Hurricanes.

Tshabola, a redshirt senior, has been a veteran on Ohio State’s offensive line since 2024. He has 28 career starts and started all 13 games this season.

With this game likely decided in the trenches, it’s a notable development. Miami boasts one of the best defensive lines in the country, and Ohio State’s decision to rotate at right guard could give the Hurricanes an edge up front heading into the matchup.

Osu fans have been saying that he stinks and are happy he is out. Claim he is the weakest member of their oline. Take that for what it’s worth.

I've seen this story before in my misery as a canes fan the last few decades. When the next guy gives up 5 sacks everyone comes back on the podcast the next Monday and we get into the "I guess this is what coaches were seeing in practice and why he wasn't starting" talk.

Just need to play our game. The team has to play like the replacements are "All World" which they could be; however, I would love to hear some from that Online talk some **** to fuel our boys. Love how personal our boys take it.

Now can someone at OSU talk about how they can handle Bain, Mesidor, Scott, and Moten with backups?
I literally texted this to one of my Ohio St friends earlier today

my buddy said the same thing earlier today.

Exactly. I’ll usually give the guys getting paid millions of dollars and their livelihoods on the line the most weight than what I see on Saturdays.

Now there are some players that play better in games and practice terribly
