Malik Reneau dropped 26 and grabbed 6 boards, Shelton Henderson had 17, Tre Donaldson 14 and Miami went on an 8-0 run to close it.
NC State led 76-69 with about a minute left, Able and Lubin each scored 17 for the Pack, Copeland and Williams added 11 apiece.
After Copeland missed a late free throw, a shooting foul sent Tru Washington to the line with 3.7 seconds left — he nailed all three freebies and Miami survived.
Miami shot around 48% FG, NC State 49%, Pack hit 37.5% from 3, Miami was only 17.6% from deep. Miami out-rebounded State 40-29.
