Athlon Sports ranks Miami's OL Top 10 in college football

Miami is bringing a ton of talent to the offensive line this season. Not only are the Hurricanes returning multiple starters from the 2024-25 squad — a unit that ranked among the nation’s best in pass protection — but they’ve also added to the group by star center James Brockermeyer and bringing back several proven talent.

The national media is taking notice as well. Athlon Sports recently released its Top 10 Offensive Line Rankings for the 2025 college football season, and Miami cracked the Top 5, landing at No. 4 in the country.

With a potential top-10 NFL Draft pick in Francis Mauigoa and a humongous 6-foot-8 offensive lineman in Markel Bell, it’s fair to ask — who’s getting through this offensive line?

Simply put, this Miami offensive line is loaded, and I love it.

Here is what Athlon Sports had to say about Miami's offensive line:

There will be no shortage of pressure on Miami’s offensive line this year. The unit will be under a magnifying glass as fans intently watch how transfer QB Carson Beck adapts to his new environment.

Moreover, the Hurricanes’ only three returning offensive starters from last season are linemen. For good measure, Miami also reeled in a transfer commitment from TCU‘s former starting center James Brockermeyer.

Of course ND #1. We should be #1.
We have some question marks. Left guard could be McCoy or Rodriguez. Cooper took a step back last season. But still good of course. And Markel bell is massive potential but still needs to show dominance. Not saying we shouldn’t be number 1 but we were actually more dialed in last season I feel as far as known commodities

I know both lines very well. IMO, we are a little better at OT and they are a little better inside. Close to a wash, but I would have had our unit ahead of theirs.

Who’s going to be ND’s 5 across?
Who’s going to be Miami’s 5 across?

Cooper was the most obviously hurt OL I've seen tough it out so consistently in a long time. Think we will be reminded of two years ago by him early on.

I hope you’re right. I never heard anything about him being injured. What was it ?
