Five-star safety Honor Fa’alave-Johnson out of San Diego (CA) now has a date locked in for his college decision, and it’s coming soon.

The highly regarded defensive back announced he will make his college commitment on March 14, revealing where he will spend the next 3-4 years. The announcement will be streamed live on the CBS Sports YouTube channel at 4:00 p.m. ET.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound safety out of San Diego (Cathedral Catholic) has named Miami, USC, LSU, Notre Dame, Oregon, and Texas as his finalists.



His offer sheet is loaded. Honor holds offers from Alabama, USC, Arizona, Miami, Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, BYU, Cal, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, LSU, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Texas, Notre Dame, and many more.

Honor is ranked as a top-20 prospect in the 2027 class, coming in at No. 16 nationally. He’s also rated as the No. 1 safety in the country and the No. 1 overall player in California.

As a junior, he stuffed the stat sheet while leading Cathedral Catholic to an 11–3 record and a trip to the California 1-AA state championship game. He carried the ball 150 times for 1,532 yards (11.9 yards per carry) and 23 touchdowns. He also caught 35 passes for 564 yards (16.1 yards per catch) and seven scores. On defense, he added 40 tackles, three interceptions, and one forced fumble. He was named the Silver Pigskin Player of the Year.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, USC is currently the favorite, holding a 63% chance to land Honor.
