4-star SG Martay Barnes Spotted Dabbing Up Miami Players After Visiting Florida State
Not only did the Miami Hurricanes walk into Tallahassee and leave with a win, but a recruit was watching the game too, and honestly, this one was kind of interesting to see play out.
After the game, Miami players Tre Donaldson and Tru Washington walked over and dapped up four-star shooting guard Martay Barnes, who was wearing a Florida State University shirt while he was on his visit. It’s not something you see every day, a recruit on a visit kind of showing love back to the other team right after a game, but it might’ve just been guys being cool with each other.
Now does it mean anything huge? Probably not. They could just know each other or know each other from basketball, nothing more than that. But you know how recruiting talk goes. It’s a similar kind of vibe to when Miami players were spotted talking with Florida recruits after the Miami vs Florida 2024 football game.
Check out the video:
On the recruiting side, Miami hasn’t been pushing super hard for Barnes this cycle, but the program still holds an offer that was sent out on July 13. Barnes has taken visits to schools like the Auburn Tigers and Florida State, which right now seem to be getting the most attention in his recruitment.
According to 247Sports, Barnes is ranked No. 67 overall in the 2027 class, No. 11 among shooting guards nationally, and No. 12 in the state of Florida. He plays high school ball at The Academy of Central Florida, which has been producing some solid talent lately.
He recently reclassed from the 2027 class to 2026.
Again, nothing is to serious here or anything like that, just something interesting to point out. But Miami fans will probably like seeing Donaldson and Washington going over to dab up with a recruit after the win. Sometimes those small moments matter in recruiting.
