4.6 Million People Watched Miami Beat Clemson

I'm going to say it again: Everyone wants to watch Mario Cristobal's Miami Hurricanes play on national television.

According to the ESPN PR Twitter account, 4.6 million people watched the Miami Hurricanes defeat the Clemson Tigers 41-13, which was enough to be the second most-watched game on Saturday, just behind Alabama versus Mississippi State, which drew 5.1 million viewers.

The game also peaked at 5.5 million people.

In Week 3, the Hurricanes drew 2.3 million viewers on a Friday night game against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, which ranked as the ninth most-watched game of the weekend.

The Hurricanes have been drawing viewership from all around the country, and I can understand why. This team is so much fun to watch--especially with the Malachi Toney and Darian Mensah duo going to work.

The team is on a bye-week before getting back onto the field to play against in-state rival, the Florida State Seminoles. The Canes and the Seminoles rivalry is one of the best in the country, so we can possibly see Miami crack the top-10 viewership for Week 7.

As enjoyable to me is the continued evidence that the myth of this gigantic Notre Dame fan base is exactly that -- a myth.

The TV numbers for YEARS now have made this clear.

75% of our viewership is hate watching 🥲 I wish the young me as a Canes fan could see this now.
