I had a chance to catch up with three-star (Pflugerville, TX) Pflugerville edge rusher Reagan Smith about his recruitment with the Miami Hurricanes among other schools pursing him.
Smith, a 6-foot-3, 210-pound edge rusher received an offer from the Hurricanes after attending Legends Camp earlier this month. Smith is currently ranked as the No. 405 player nationally, No. 42 edge rusher, and No. 51 player out of Texas.
This past season at Pflugerville Weiss High School, he recorded a total of 70 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, and two forced fumbles. During his freshman season, he tallied 35 tackles and 5.0 tackles for loss.
"Miami is really high up there," Smith added. "They handle their players really well and they have had a winning culture for a long time. I love what Mario Cristobal is doing with the program and his intentions with the team."
Smith told CanesInSight that there are five schools pursuing him the hardest: Oklahoma, Arizona, North Carolina, Georgia Tech, and Baylor.
Smith expressed his close relationship with head coach Mario Cristobal and defensive coordinator Corey Hetherman.
"When I was on campus we had a really good talk. Mario Cristobal, Corey Hetherman, and Frank Tucker are great guys. We all sat down and talked about ball and life outside of ball. I'm excited and looking forward to continuing to build the relationship."
Smith stated that he will be down for a gameday visit in the month of September or October. Check out his film down below:
