3-Star 2027 CB Azari Warren Talks Miami Interest: 'Miami stands pretty high'

Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes coaching staff are trying to put some finishing touches on their 2027 recruiting class.

2027 Three-star cornerback Azari Warren out of St. Thomas More High School is hearing from the Hurricanes coaches. CanesInSight caught up with the 6-foot, 170-pound cornerback about his recruitment with the Hurricanes and other schools pursuing him.

Warren told CIS that there are currently two teams to watch out for in his recruitment: Wake Forest and Stanford.

Even though the Hurricanes did not make the list of schools pursuing him the hardest, he still has the Hurricanes sitting high in his recruitment.

"Miami stands pretty high up there in my recruiting, since it’s been my dream school since I was a little kid. Just hoping that over the course of the recent future, we can make that offer committable," Warren added. "I have no date scheduled as of right now, I’m more focused on trying to make my offer committable so that I can hopefully move forward with Miami football," said Warren.

According to the On3 Recruiting Rankings, he currently is viewed as a three-star product. Warren is also ranked as the No. 226 cornerback.

Before transferring to St. Thomas More High School, he played for Chino Hills in California. This past season, he tallied 45 tackles and one tackle for loss.

According to his Twitter page, Miami was the most recent school to offer him.

Special Teams Ace looks like Dante Hall returning punts out there... Kind of stiff at DB but physical would be nice addition to the practice squad maybe a contributor by junior year if he sticks....

i could see him being a pest at Wake Forest. If he actually trains and gets more flex in his hips he could be a player for anybody. It looks like he just plays off pure athleticism. He's pretty **** good returning kicks/punts.

Scholly/walk-on non-guaranteed NIL offer with team compensation per week basis during season if i had to guess.

He was offered so the walk on kind of sounds out the window. I don’t see the speed I see in film from other DBs we are recruiting or landed. I knew Dante Hall and he could fly. I don’t see that kind of speed. Quicker than fast on film. You’re right he’s physical. Looks more like a free safety. Maybe at 190-195 and some seasoning he gives you something.

Yeah he's not the speedster like Dante looks like everytime he had an opportunity to return a kick it was a TD or returned deep giving his team good field position.

I remember back on sundays when a gamebreak came through you knew it was going to be the bears browns rams or chiefs

There are no more walkons and the scholarship roster size was increased. A no NIL scholarship player is basically the equivalent to what used to be a walkon. Need them to fill out a roster and have quality practice squads.

He says he’s waiting on the commitable offer. May be waiting to see what Nash Johnson is going to do or others a bit higher on the board

Dante was wild! Went to Nimitz high in Houston. This kid has some things you want meaning Warren. But I’ve seen better DBs also.
