BTW, I see us sweeping the Dade and Broward OPOY and DPOY awards.

Dade

Yearby/Cook - Co Offensive POY.
CThomas or MSmith - Defensive POY

Broward

B Powell - Offensive POY
T McCrary - Defensive POY

McCrary is the only maybe of the group. The others are prob locked in.

CIF playoffs start this week. I am hoping my old high school Lompoc can win out and play Chaminade in the Semi-Finals. Lompoc is the #3 seed in the playoffs and have 4* DT Ainuu Taua (he told me he really likes UCLA so do not ask if we would should offer) and a stable of runningbacks that are virtually unknown. Chaminade is the #2 seed and Serra Gardena is the #1 and will most likely win the title and go on to play in the state championship.

I really hope Lompoc draws home field because i would love to see our future starting quarterback play my high school who has not been tested virtually all season. We have been winning games 80-28, 63-14 etc but in all honesty we play in a **** poor division and will most likely get rolled if we play Chaminade.

I don't think Chad is winning any DPOY awards based off of those stats that were just posted. It seems like moving him inside takes away a lot of his big play ability. Does he really have no sacks or TFLs this season? That doesn't even seem possible.

Those POY awards are mostly based off hype. Most of the time if you are a big time prospect on a great team they are gonna give it to you. Especially if there is no one else in the county who overwhelmdly deserved it. Which in this case I dont see it in Dade. Unless I missed something.

is it just me or are Darrion Owens numbers underwhelming for as talented as he looks on film? or was he injured at some point this season?

A few questions:

1. What position did he play getting those stats (Safety/LB)?

2. How many games did he play?

3. Was he injured this year?

Few things..

1) If Owens was not hurt, that might go to show we need to temper our enthusiam about him and allow him to develop into a new position. (Remember, he has only played OLB one year) I would hate for this kid to not have a "Ray Lewis" like freshmen season and have the natives on here call him a "JAG" or "not as good as advertised" like they are doing Figs.

2) Keep sleeping on Terry McCrary. If those numbers are true, he is the Broward County version of Mike Smith to me. Cant let him go to LSU without a fight.

3) One way or the other we have to get Trayone Gray here. Even if we sign and place and have someone camp out at his prep school to make sure he gets back here. He is an athlete that we need on this team.

Of Note:

Looking at Brad's numbers he's gotten better as the season has gone on. Great sign!
Rosier accounted for 32 total TDs, the most of any of our commits.
Brandon and Yearby enough said.
Brady average's almost 18 yards per catch.
Valentine makes tackles for a loss every other tackle. Jenkins and Moten make a tackle for a loss approximately every third tackle.
Juwon Young is a tackling machine.
Defying all logic teams continued to run at Trent Harris who took advantage of the situation to the tune of 33 tackles for loss. That spells disruptive in my book.

ive seen a handful of games now where Kaaya's team scores close to 60 pts and he has pedestrian stats, do they have a RB with 25 tds or something?

McCray 16 sacks
Harris 13 sacks
Jackson 12 sacks
Smith 10 sacks
Thomas 8 sacks (at DT)
Valentine 8.5 sacks
Moten 5 sacks
Jenkins 5 sacks

We will be able to get after the quarterback with this class and a new DC!!!!

To me if you're going to question that, then you have to question Langham's stats too then. I wouldn't question either one!! I don't think anyone should be worried.

Truuue... I mean it seems to me teams are going away from owens which is a great thing

Young is killing it as far as tackles are concerned. He needs to get a little more in the "loss" column tho. I am stoked about this class coming in!

He played inside linebacker and some walk up to line OLB. I believe this is more of not used to the position. The kid is very raw and will be a linebacker. Just don't expect him to get playing time at defense the 1st 2 years. But easily debatable as the most physical kid in this class.
