OP updated. Sorry about that, I forgot about this thread and was slacking with the updates.

Added unrated Marcellius Pulliam to the OP as our last remaining (known) target. There may be others, just not public.

We need top lbs , imo they’re the weakest group on the field . Portal portal portal , not some 3 star 195 lbs we need big fast and mature ones . So if they’re not elite imo portal

Clark visited UM this past weekend

No idea if that was just courtesy both ways because he is the Washington twins cousin...Or if we are expanding the board.

That's why I left him on the interested recruits portion of the OP. He was already on the board so its not expanding.

Stanquan Clark was at the Miami - FSU game last weekend.

He met with Charlie Strong before the game.
“On defense, they just need a run stopping defense, that’s what they lack,” “Before the game it was a great atmosphere, a nice tailgate (for recruits). Coach Strong, talking to him before t he game they were hyped about it.”

Despite Miami's struggles this season, Clark still sees a program that can be built back.
“They can be back to competing for championships – they just have to get guys,” “It shouldn’t take that long, they have nice recruits coming in.”

Clark has two official visits remaining and has set up one of them to Auburn this weekend. His final visit will be to either Miami or Oklahoma, who he says is recruiting him pretty hard.

He is an early enrollee.

Wesley B was recruited by and committed to Diaz and the boys while he knew he was getting fired.

You don't ever stop recruiting as an assistant. It's even more important now for the resume

Wesley knew Mario was coming.. He didn't commit to Diaz.

Creating a thread to discuss the 2023 LB Board as it seems like we've been flying in the dark about who the staff is after and new targets seem to pop up each week.

As I suspected, @Brooklyndee says Mario has a plan when it comes to LB & CB recruiting. We just need to watch it unfold.

Confirmed LB Priority Targets

@DMoney confirmed these are priority targets

  • Raul "Popo" Aguirre (Commit)
  • Bobby Washington (Commit)
  • Malik Bryant (Commit)
  • Marcellius Pulliam (Commit)

Remaining Targets

(varying interest level, pulled mostly from @supacane Target Commitment List thread)

  • Staquan Clark (Louisville Commit)

Eliminated from Consideration

  • Tony Rojas (wants to play for Manny for some unknown reason and recruiting Ta'Mere to join him to learn how to miss tackles and give up huge plays)
  • Anthony Hill ( Texas)
  • Lewis Carter (OU commit)
  • Ta'Mere Robinson (PSU commit)
  • Jordan Hall (MSU commit)
  • Michael Harris (UCF commit)
  • Andrew Harris (UCF commit)
  • Raylen Wilson (committed to the wannbe UM)

2024 LB Targets

Depending on the number of LBs we take in 23, it could influence how many we take in 24. Will update this after collecting an unprioritized list of LBs. Got the initial list from @Hurricane Warrior 's 2024 Prospect thread

  • TJ Capers (LCE says he's pro-Miami and we're in a strong position, confident he'll be a Cane)
  • Sammy Brown
  • Adarius Hayes
  • Timajay Hayes
  • Vincent Shavers
  • Nicholas Rodriguez
  • Aaron Chiles
  • Jeremiah Marcelin
Would like Sammy Brown. Big kid with speed who's a state champion wrestler.

When Cormani signs, i'd put that CB haul over the LB haul. OL CB then LB. It is crazy saying that as those are always positions we recruit poorly.
Let’s not count our corners before they sign. Happy with who we have now.
