Attacking Defense

An this was Temple on their biggest stage of the season in 2010 again when AG had the players he wanted who would go on to the NFL. Notice the defense wasn't attacking but rather containing PSU. A Zebra doesn't change its strips, if you want a race horse then you need to buy a race horse and not hope your pianted Zebra can carry you to victory. You can use the same Jockey ( Golden) just get a new Defense Coordinator and philosophy.

******* mopes man...this is the U!

Rlly? Look at the recruiting classes he had at temple. A three star recruit was something to get excited about.

This team is now loaded with premier talent on defense, 4 stars at every position, why wouldn't he change his approach?

Penn st had 10X the talent tht he was able to get at temple. Containment is the only option in tht situation.

I think Temple gave 23rd ranked Ped State fits that year. Forced them to kick 5 FGs or something nuts like that. But Paradiddle left that out in his zeal to be a mope.

Go to 1:53 of this video, and listen to what Lamar Miller thought of Al Groh's 3-4.

I'm sure the first 3 years were just an anomaly. year 4 will definitely be the year that we really see how awesome this defense is

Lamar Miller has no idea what that guy is talking about...

He probably thinks he's talking about #3 and #4 on their defense. I put absolutely 0 stock in that interview when it pertains to a 3-4 defense...none.

So why then has UM not had better defensive results in the last 3 years? It's the same scheme with better talent against much better competition should yield a similarly ranked defense not some of the worst defenses in the country.

Because allowing other teams to bend then break it in the defenses *** is not Miami football. Hence why these players just don't get it.

Golden gets it though. Hes the smartest guy in the room.

Miami ran for 277, on 46 carries, at a clip of 6.02 YPC. We SMASHED! that 3-4 $H!T!

When was the last time we had a tackle for loss by a DL?

2013, Shayon Green, led team with 10.5 tackles for loss.

Just to add to that...2013 Chickillo- 7.5 TFL; Kamalu- 3.5 TFL; Pierre- 1 TFL; Gilbert- 1.5 TFL; Robinson- 1.5 TFL; Porter- 3 TFL

So a total of 5.5 came from a DT.

The question was DL not DT. And Chick and Kamalu often slid inside. Not sure if any of their TFL stats came when they slid inside.

Best question would be: How many TFL did we have as a team and where did that rank us? What you ask guys to do can often determine their personal stats.

We have plenty of pass rushers in this incoming class

Thomas
Jackson
Harris
Smith

Throw them in with McCord, AQM, Kamalu and you've got yourself a MF stew!
