Banner and Recruiting

Please help me understand why there is so much concern with our recruiting when it comes to the banner. The reason I ask is, does it really matter with this staff who we have on the field as they have made it clear that they are going to force their scheme down our players throats instead of creating a scheme around our players. We could plug in 4 and 5 star kids all day long (which we already do) and still give up 500 yards a game. Fentress playing over Carter is a prime example of my point as the staff is content with limiting a world class talent in Carter for a far inferior talent in Fentress because of him fitting their system better. We already have good not great talent on the field and we see how top recruits look in our system (Tracy Howard vs Cincy is another premier example with his ball skills or lack there of). Bottom line is we can ***** and moan that recruits won't like the banner but getting great recruits doesn't outweigh the weakness in the system the players are put in.

Banner, imo probably has some effect on recruits but not as much as the scheme had and has on landing defensive recruits.

OP, how do you think the players really feel about the banner? Especially since it's a pivotal, away game.

what part of the game is pivotal? it's unfortunate for the current players but some decisions are unfortunate for some. If you have to fire someone, it's unfortunate for some but in the company's best interest. In Miami's best interest, new leadership is desperate.

For tonight's game, all player names have been replaced with BANNER

It hurts recruiting. Think of it this way. If we keep flying banners:

- Who will be the next Dade County stud safety to sit behind Nabamboo Fentress once Jamal Carter leaves?!

- What 4-star wide out will take over Stacy Coley's role as "what ever happened to that guy?"

- How will we find high school All-Americans like Anthony Chickillo and Deon Bush that can come in here and regress?

- You think 4-star rangy linebackers like Jermaine Grace, that can run like gazelles grow on trees? It will be tough for Golden to find a guy that talented to warm the bench.

- Kiss the next 5-star corner goodbye. We won't be able to land the #1 CB.. Kids love coming here and being told "You could be the next Tracy Howard." They won't even care about the chance to get sent straight to the bottom of the depth chart anymore.

Life as we know it will change.

The banner is just a visible symptom of the poor coaching, and fans sick and tired of it.

Golden is the one tanking recruiting. Performance speaks for itself, and no kid with other options worth a **** wants to come here and be hog-tied, and march-stepped in the way he's allowed to play.

The 2015 class isn't that impressive and it isn't because of the banners.

exactly my point, it doesn't matter if they come or not with the system we play. we have them on campus now and we suck so why care if they come in the future if the elite recruits get put in the exact same system the current kids are failing in?

As you can see I agree with you: Banner, imo probably has some effect on recruits but not as much as the scheme had and has on landing defensive recruits

My question is how do you think our CURRENT players really feel about the banners? Have we made it clear enough that we go to war with them?

Other coaches are telling our recruits that Golden will be gone soon, the stadium is empty and our players are not being developed. The banner is doesn't even scratch those issues.

The first three words on this banner are "Save our players," so I hope they realize we want the a-holes in charge out, and we want their talent to stop being wasted.

The next one will probably include "Our players deserve better."

Too much is made of the banner, lack of attendence, lack of facilities, etc, and their effect on recruiting,

It's very simple.

Win, and we will get the recruits.

I'm not sure every local radio person manages to blame everything else for our missing out on stud recruits.

Honestly we could land 6 or 7 five star recruits on defense and we would improve only slightly or not at all. All the fans clamoring that it hurts recruiting are right, it does. But does it really matter who we get? Look at all the studs we got who had offers from all the top programs who cant seem to remember how to cover or tackle.

The banner probably has more of an effect on coaches looking at the job than it does on recruits and recruiting.

I have no problem with running a scheme as many programs flourish when they find the right pieces to fit "their" scheme. The problem is the scheme itself. I'd be fine if we had a bunch of 2 and 3 stars guys out there that fit the scheme and improved during their time here. Seems as if this staff just looks for guys that are highly rated rather than guys that fit the scheme. Can't run a 3-4 without huge D-linemen and we haven't had those for awhile while having, or had, a dearth of other players that would seem to fit a 4-3...and not playing a defense to their strengths.

Some of you cats are delusional. If we look like **** on the field and coaching and schemes are a blatant problem to a bunch of 18 year old kids, then a banner is not the problem. Stats speak louder than a banner.

There would be no banners if the past recruits (aka actual players on the team right now) weren't getting wasted by inept corches. Recruiting nerds don't realize that recruiting is only part of football. It's not its own separate entity.

Great recruiting plus **** corching equals **** results. So, why would anyone with half a brain give a fck if we lose a couple recruits that would ultimately be wasted and thrown under the bus by this staff anyway?

We're going to lose those recruits anyway when they see the continued floundering, guys not getting developed, players being thrown under the bus by the staff, and feel all the negativity surrounding the program in the community and everywhere else.
