6’3 255lbs 4-star DE out of Cypress TX, goes to 6A school Cy Ranch

Had a good Junior season with 44tcks 19TFL’s & 3 sacks

Plays with very good balance & leverage against OL’s with a quick first step burst & very good interior swim technique to get in the backfield & to the ball carrier. Has a strong initial punch at the point of attack in his bull rush against inside Guards & does a really good job using submarine technique with hip bend & dip to get underneath on the outside vs OT’s & TE’s.

@1:12 he does a good job with initial bull rush against the Tackle, then gets vertical while gaining under arm control using his inside arm to get leverage on the inside of the OT’s chest, then pushing forward to collapse the protection, while stacking & shedding the blocker to disengage & stop the ball carrier, textbook run contain play.

He has a quick first step, with very good natural power, quick feet in pursuit of the runner showing an active high motor making most of his tackles on the backside from run contain. He also has ideal arm length for his size, he’s got a Basketball player wingspan & utilizes it in his pass rushing skill set while collapsing the pocket.

Versatile, plays 5-tech & 4-tech (outside) in a 3-4, but could play 3-tech in a 4-3 or be a Strong Side DE in a 4-3 as well.

Texas has the early lead on him, but Baylor & Arkansas are recruiting him heavy as well.

Rod Wright has a relationship with him & his family so we’ll have a shot, although pulling him from TX will be difficult.

Holds offers from Texas, Baylor, OK ST, TCU, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Miss ST, Tenn, Mich ST, Indiana, K State, Kansas, Nebraska, Purdue, Northwestern, TTech, Wash ST, Cal, AZ ST, Arizona, Colorado, Houston & SMU

His arm length, first step, swim move, lateral footwork & angular balance is impressive.

Even though he’s an early Texas lean, I hope we keep after him throughout the year.

Texas & Alabama are loaded with DLines prospects this class, I suspect we’ll sign at least 1 DL from both states.
