Miami Hurricanes' decorated guard Isaiah Wong was drafted by the Indianapolis Pacers with the 55tt overall pick in the 2nd round.. The Piscataway, New Jersey native is coming off a stellar college career in Coral Gables.

Wong, celebrated as one of the most illustrious players in Canes Hoops history, propelled the team to the Elite Eight and the Final Four in consecutive years. In addition to being the reigning ACC Player of the Year, Wong impressed at the NBA Draft Combine scrimmages, thereby boosting his draft stock significantly.

Known for his knack for scoring, Wong finished his senior season with impressive stats: averaging 16.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. A dynamo in the backcourt, the Miami guard made a name for himself through his scoring prowess despite his slightly smaller stature for the professional game.

Notable for his quickness and ability to create his own shot, Wong has the handles to outwit defenders with his crafty hesitation moves and crossovers. His offensive capabilities are complemented by his defensive improvements since his freshman season, a testament to his work in the weight room.

However, to ensure his success at the professional level, Wong must polish his three-point shooting capabilities. His field-goal consistency, particularly beyond the arc, will be a critical aspect of his game to develop as he enters the demanding NBA environment.

Wong's versatility as a natural shooting guard who can also step into the point guard role will be invaluable for the Pacers. It's this multifaceted ability that could secure his place in the NBA, providing Indy with much-needed depth and flexibility in their backcourt.

Wong has made big strides as a facilitator. I think it’s as important he continue to improve in this area as it is he continues to improve as a 3 point shooter.
