Gus now has 13 rushing TD's this season. A common knock on him is that he doesn't score TD's. Here's the most rushing TD's these players ever scored in a single season: 15 TD's - Clinton Portis 13 TD's - Gus Edwards, Edgerrin James, Willis McGahee 10 TD's - Frank Gore 8 TD's - Lamar Miller...

Gus Edwards with 9 TD's in last 5 games. 2nd in the NFL in rushing TD's. Not Bad.

I like to use this to show the difference a talented RB can make. Mike James was a 6th RD pick. Damien Berry was on NFL practice squads a couple years. Definitely not bums. But behind the same OL they couldn't come close to doing what Lamar Miller & Duke Johnson could. An OL can only do so...

Definitely agree. It's an interesting Question to debate. Example - last year would you rather have had: Alabama's OL & Henry Parrish Miami's OL & Bijan Robinson I can see either side....but personally I'm taking Bijan

See my post above. DeeJay Dallas was really good behind a bad OL. Dallas was much better than Cam, who was a bit better than Parrish & Knighton (all similar OL's) IMO - In college, OL play matters, but RB talent still matters more.

In college, good RB's are much less dependent on a good OL. That's much more of an NFL thing. Here's PFF's Run Block Ranking for Miami & what our leading rusher did vs P5 opponents that year - Walton was below average behind a very good OL - Yearby put up similar numbers to Walton behind a...

Gus is definitely 4.1 ypc vs P5. Not sure where you're pulling you stats from, but I'll post mine separately and you can tell me where you think I'm off. As for your comments about Gus, not saying your wrong, but I have questions: He couldn't handle pass pro assignments - what's this based...

I like Gus - but I agree he was below average at Miami & has never been a ture #1 NFL RB. But according to D$ - all NFL RB's are "very good" college RB's. And if Walton was a starting NFL RB, Gus 100% would be. But his NFL production is legit. No need to try and minimize that. For Example...

Nice try @mirvin88 - but @DMoney will NEVER acknowledge Walton's P5/Non-P5 difference. You can't respond when there is no response. Here's how it goes every time: @DMoney says "Walton averaged 7.6 his Junior year before he got hurt in the 4th game" You point out in those 4 games: Waltons 7.6...

It's not the difference between P5 & Non-P5 It's that Walton has the lowest P5 ypc of anyone. So how is it possible for someone with the lowest ypc to be considered "elite"? Walton - 3.8 ypc vs P5 Not sure where you pulled the stats for Gus, but here's his actual YPC Gus vs P5 - 4.1 ypc...

I didn't move the goalposts, I responded to you saying "Most college backs don’t even get invited to a camp because they lack the talent". So I pointed out 50+ college RB's do get invited to camp every year. To be fair & to clarify - I don't think Walton was a below-average "overall" talent...

We just look at this from different angles - and we won't see eye to eye on it. You're more story & I'm more stats. You'll say Walton / Laird / Ballage combined to play in 100 NFL games - therefore they're good. I'll say, TRUE, but they put up bad numbers in those games - therefore they're...

Trayone Gary made it to final cuts with the Browns. Robert Burns is currently on the Bears practice squad. Neither were "very good" college RB's. Kalen Ballage was behind Demario Richard on the Arizona St depth chart for 4 straight years. Ballage was not a "very good" college RB. I've always...

I get I overdo it with stats. But with Walton - there's only 1 stat that matters: Walton has a 3.8 ypc vs P5 teams in his career. That's the worst of any P5 RB. I PROMISE you - Anyone.....give me ANY P5 RB in the last 20 years. Any of them who are remotely even "ok" will average above 4.0...

@DMoney - Notice you conveniently left out Kalen Ballage & Patrick Laird AGAIN! @DMoney - I know you won't even read this, so this is to give context to anyone else reading this But to address your comical points: Just Wrong. In 1 year with the Bengals he averaged 0.9 ypc in the...

@DMoney - you said Walton would be a better NFL RB than Duke Johnson & you've always defended that take. That's weird. You're not willing to listen to logic & reason and you've just never been very realistic when it comes to Walton. Instead you'll say thing like: "Walton was a starting RB in...

I agree - and the stats back that up. IMO there was a perfect storm of circumstances & reasons as to why Walton was hyped up so much - and Gus & Yearby sort of became victims of that hype. Reputation & Narrative can be much more important than on-field performance sometimes - and Walton is a...

In Gus's defense - the Ravens OL & Lamar no question contribute to his success, but they shouldn't undermine the fact that he's just been really good. Here's Ravens RB's with 100+ carries YPC since Gus's 2018 rookie season: JK Dobbins - 5.8 Gus Edwards - 5.2 Mark Ingram - 4.8 Kenyan Drake -...

So much of Walton's "talent" was narrative driven IMO. I don't have a problem with anyone who thinks Walton was better than Yearby & Gus. I always said it was a personal preference thing. But thinking Walton was MUCH better than Yearby & Gus never made sense, especially since Yearby...

Take the RB rotation in 2016 with a grain of salt. Walton was the coaches favorite, Yearby got screwed, and Gus & Homer proved to be the best talents were running 3rd & 4th on the depth chart.
