    Two things in this thread I will never understand: 1) hating on South Florida players, generally; and 2) dogging Hurricanes who signed here from OOS and delivered for this university while representing it well. Try to make your point without ****ting on our guys.

    In fairness, the corches recruiting those players have all been trash, too. Trash begets trash. Local trash, OOS trash, that part is gonna be the same when you have lame corches. Might get lucky with a local blue chip who has a Miami connection or really wants to stay home from time to time.

    I don't think he was talking about a literal hat toss. By the time signing day rolls around, most South Florida recruits have already decommited from UM (at least once, some two or three times).

    100%. People don't stay asleep as long as they used to on some of these talented kids. Branch is a good example. UM commit in March. Ole Miss gets the flip. Kirby looks around, says, "cool, thanks for finding this one guys," puts out a December offer and gets the kid to flip.

    That's still true. But distance has become less and less of an obstacle to recruiting. It is just easier to get information now. And if you have a coach that was just recently in Texas, and already has relationships with Texas coaches and Texas recruits, that distance seems even less...
