You're complaining about depth. 'Depth' in basketball is being able to go two deep at each position. We didn't have it this year, yes, but you need 3 guys off the bench you can trust to give you between 10-20 min of solid minutes.

UConn is literally demolishing college basketball right now. They have 8 players averaging over 10 min per game. Of those 8, 5 are playing over 20 min. If that's not proof of concept for tighter, top-heavy rotation, I don't know what is.

I agree and think this move probably tilts him in that direction. There is some redundancy as far as floor spacing playing him and Kidd together. Now think it makes more sense to try to add a 6’8-type that can rebound but also shoot the 3 and then see if we can convince Cleveland to come back
