The last pass play should have been to the receiver at the top of the screen. Single coverage, no safety help and you either throw for a touchdown or its out of the end zone. That was the time to take the one last shot. Bad play call.
A competent DC given free reign would win 8-9 games even with Manny at head coach. The offense has legit players at the skill positions and Rooster is the real deal.

Mack Brown on the sideline looks like Bowden towards the end of his career. Not a lot of coaching going on there. He's a recruiter and a figure head. You can be a good team with a disengaged head coach but you aren't winning anything significant.
It's a dumb rule. The rule assume that the defender made a decision to land with full body weight on the QB. I wonder if any of the people making the rules ever played the game and understand that no one is making a decision in .001 seconds. These are just bodies moving fast.
