couldn't be happier for him... honestly i wouldn't be surprised if FSU didn't want him to be eligible this year.. might force him to stay another year and basically he's another "transfer" starter for next year after Lovett and Fiske leave and he wasn't projected to start this year anyways...

I don't think he was going over there to be a backup. He was planning on being a starter. Now that's not so clear and he's projected to be in a 3 man rotation at his position. During his 3rd year in college, starting is a huge selling point.

That update mentions the waiver and then the money as the key reasons and barely mentions being a starter vs a backup. During his 3rd season. No doubt depth is the number 1 reason for the majority of transfers nowadays. Portal kids want to start. Rarely are they transferring to sit on the bench.

I hear what you're saying but this isn't the same. Those guys had attitude/discipline issues when they were on the team. As far as I know, Jackson hasn't.

Kid already has a good NIL deal maybe he's a "dipper" as Josh Pate says.. dipping his toes into the water to test getting a bigger deal but might still come back? Just wishful thinking?

End of the day this is the truth.. if a player is ready to leave, you can't force them to stay..you can try and recruit them/convince them but end of the day you can't keep a player at your school who doesn't want to be there.

Where are you seeing this? Would be a tough loss.. I can see the appeal with the season they just had vs what we had but can't see him being willing to sit a year.

We need BOTH.. keep Darrell Jackson AND big time commits. A true freshman can rarely replace a contributing junior with 2 years of experience. Keep Jackson and let the freshman (whoever it is) develop.
