That is apparently what the partial declaratory judgment was requested for .... some specific phrasing within the ESPN media rights agreement that is tied to the GOR.

Fluagar posted the request for partial summary judgment and it DOES specify the GOR / Media agreement. Clemson attorneys are requesting a confirmation from the court (ruling) that it does state that ESPN has not right to broadcast Clemson games once Clemson is no longer a member of the ACC.

Fine to have a performance based distribution (remember um was 3-5 in the ACC last year), but IF FSU / Clemson head to the B10, announcing before the end of June, then ESPN can enact the composition clause .... then all bets are off on the media agreement. They can offer 30% less than the...

Depends on WHERE FSU goes. ESPN supposedly wants them in the SEC and is prepared to extend the ACC media agreement to keep other schools in ... if they do. However if they decide they choose the B10 then ESPN might not want to continue paying for a dramatically devalued group of leftover...

Believe it has to do with specific information Clemson attorneys found in the ESPN media agreement that was delivered to them a week ago. They might be requesting a specific item to be ruled on ... such as the wording in the agreement that states that it is in effect only so long as the member...

Lot of crazy "potential" scenarios being put out there by people "with connections". One thing seems pretty clear however ... that there are talks going on between ESPN and the ACC trying to reach some sort of settlement. ESPN does NOT want their media agreement to be public record and available...

Definitely sounds like a very low percentage probability for sure. Only schools that would definitely support it would be BC, Wake Forest and Syracuse as the "proposal" is to maintain the current contract rate even without FSU (and assume Clemson as well). What happens if the ACC doesn't accept...

MEGA Conference Realignment and lawsuits Megathread(Its still personal)

One new "FSU Settlement Proposal" that is "supposedly being discussed" was floated on Warchant: -FSU to the B10 and ESPN will keep the media rights through 2030. -ESPN will extend the ACC media contract through 2036 at the current rate. -FSU will be permitted to leave the ACC and join the B10...

So, if ESPN puts on pressure and presents a financial offer to FSU / Clemson that they can't turn down, and UNC is locked into the ACC for political reasons, then Miami is next man up for the Big 10 along with?

Really interesting listen. Sounds like the "**** is getting ready to hit the fan".

The Big 12, Big 10, and SEC have simply joined the ACC in taking that position that the ESPN media agreements should not BE MADE PUBLIC, as requested by AG Moody. They filed an Amicus Brief on Wednesday in Leon County Court. Don't see it as an issue as long as the agreement is made available TO...

Did read another interesting comment ... "SEC really does NOT want FSU / Clemson to go to the Big 10 ... IF they do go to the Big 10 ESPN is prepared to immediately enact the composition clause and blow up the current media agreement, making ACC teams available for other conferences". This could...

Wish they would rip the bandaid off and both go to 24. But ... they have just signed new media contracts that run until 2030 / 2031 ... and that is why people are saying the most each conference will add ... now ... is 2 teams each. Then the next move is 2030.

Depends on WHO you talk to. Lot of people out there that have UNC as THE most coveted program by both the B10 and SEC ... but it might be politically impossible for them to get out.

Rumors of performance based media payout. Finish at the top of the conference .... get more money. Make the CFP and get a larger share of the conference CFP payout. Based on that formula and Miami's 2023 finish (3-5 in conference) Miami would receive maybe 1/3rd of what was received last year...

Lot of crazy "leaked comments" regarding the current FSU / Clemson / ACC situation. -FSU value to the SEC is significantly higher than FSU value to the B10 -ESPN negotiating with the ACC regarding potential new media contract terms that would enable ESPN to pick up the option to 2036. This...

Sure they will remain independent ... but they can also be aligned with the conference they would most likely end up joining further down the road. A conference with teams that draw more viewers, get better TV slots, and can pay more $$$ for their games than the ACC. It's all about eyeballs and...

AND they can also upgrade from their other ACC games ... instead of playing Syracuse, Pitt, NC State, UVA, Wake Forest, BC (although the 2 Catholic schools has fans), they can be scheduling Big 10 teams and SEC. All the media partners are into "optimizing" air time. I don't see ND remaining in...

MEGA Conference Realignment and lawsuits Megathread(Its still personal)

You really believe ND's media partner is happy about having a 5 game commitment to a conference that very soon won't have either FSU or Clemson? You're naive. They will be able to get a similar deal with the Big 10 and have games that will attract millions more viewers.
