What lame BS does the committee cook up to argue they belong in the CFP. Their signature win and only reason they’re ranked so high is because they beat Georgia…and they’re currently getting curb stomped by Georgia down 21-0 with Georgia on the move. Keep in mind Georgia play GA Tech last week and won by 7. Alabama is the same team that lost by 2-3 scores to FSU.
If this score holds up, it should essentially negate the early season victory because hey, doesn’t the CFP dunce consistently echo the “how have they looked lately” sentiment? Where are Alabama’s other signature victories? Vanderbilt? 8-4 Missouri/Tennessee who didn’t beat a team over .500?
Ultimately I don’t think this game matters in regards to their CFP hopes. The Good Ole Boy system will never allow Alabama or any ESECPN runner up sidelined from the CFP. But perhaps this gives the CFP an out. They move Bama back to 10, Notre Dame at 9, us at 11 and say “oh well look at that, Notre Dame is too far ahead of Miami for the H2H to matter. I fear this is more likely than bouncing them from the CFP and putting both Miami and ND in. Hope I’m wrong.
