For context, Cam got most of the first team reps for the whole preseason, including the last preseason game. Jones was either working with the backups or with a mix of 1s and 2s. In fact, the Giants played their starters vs Jones and the backups in the 2nd quarter.

Then, the whole "Newton is out for five days" thing happened and Jones got reps with the 1s. There was no indication from the outside that this was happening.
