Tears Nole Tears (“Offcial”)

It seems the preseason mags consensus is that Boise will have the best OL, DL, and WRs in the G5. Many are high on the QB replacing the ol redskins Qb’s son. This all bodes well against the Noles. Noles weakness is OL. Noles strength will be DB and maybe DL if the former 5 stars live up to that billing. You have to like Boise’s chances.

Pretty silly post. Bowden pumped out elite talent for years and consistently won. Criticizing his “evaluation ” skills is absurd.

He had a pretty innovative offense back in the day which is part of the reason that fsu won. In reality there is no such thing as a successful “CEO.” That’s just a euphemism for “coach who isn’t particularly good at anything.” Bobby was good at a lot of things.

Butch could never have “been the GOAT.” He basically struck gold at Miami for one season and has never had any notable success anywhere else.

Correct. Boise’s strength this year will be in the trenches. On offense, all 5 OL starters are back including 3 seniors. 106 combined starts on the OL, which is a huge number. They return 3 senior starters on the DL, and a junior who led the team in sacks last year. 7 of their top 8 DBs are back, including a safety who will probably be drafted (Nawahine, another senior). Their entire defense should be juniors or seniors. And, you know they’ll be ready to play. Not like they haven’t been going toe to toe with P5 teams for years. They’ll have their bag of tricks wide open.

BUT...you’ll probably have a true freshman starting and replacing a 4 year starter and the schools all time leading passer at QB. Big advantage to FSU. They also lose their leading rusher, who got over 300 carries last year (nobody else got more than 34) and was drafted in the 3rd round. Obviously FSU will have an overall athletic advantage, and Boise is starting a rookie QB. But it can be argued Boise will have the advantage on both lines and you have to think will be better coached.

Willie can’t lose to a bunch of 2 and 3 star kids in basically a home game against a true freshman QB. Can he?

Yes. Yes he can...and hopefully will

WTF are you talking about? If you know anything about UM than this shouldn’t be necessary.

#1 Miami gets off sanctions, kills FSU, and wins titles. FSU rised and had their best ever run when UM was on sanctions.
#2 FSU has had more NFL busts during the Bowden era than any team. Don’t finagle some sorry stats from a couple years either. Bowdens top classes sucked in the league.

What does NFL have to do with anything? His goal is to win at the college level which he did And get his players drafted which he did.

I guess Nick Saban sucks because his kids don’t do **** compared to college right?

You don’t get it and that’s ok. I’ll try to explain...
It shows he didn’t recruit the best talent but instead the highest rated players. Saban and Bama are on another level. They’ve actually won and played for many more NC’s in a much shorter time span than FSU ever did under Bowden. Bowden hasn’t had anywhere near the 1st round picks as Bama has had with Saban during the run.

He didn’t recruit the best talent yet recruited the top players? You mean like every other top program? The dude has 2 NCs, 12 ACC Championships, was in the hunt for other NCs. He has the 4th most 1st round picks behind Saban, Butch, and Joe Paterno yet he somehow didn’t recruit “talent”

Bowden coached longer than any of them. He should have more 1st round picks than them all combined with FL talent. So Butch has more 1st round picks than Bowden coaching 1/5 of the time span. Thanks for researching my point.

Butch has more 1st Rnd picks than Saban....
From 95-2004 - 26 at UM....(And closed the deal on another 10 while JJs Closer from 84-88)....Butchs kids not only shined in College...but were Pro Bowlers and Canton Bound....

Really? FSU always had a top 5 class and crap in the NFL. They were the epitome of underutilization of talents. ****,
Bobby, incubated star whoring. He always had a better class than Miami on paper but always got his **** kicked on the field. Lorenzo Booker says hello. Don’t try me with old school names either. It’s no different. Bobby was terrible on the field and the mistakes blossomed against Miami. You couldn’t be more wrong.
It was a discipline thing with Bowden. Towards the end, the inmates were running the asylum. Actually, the last several years.

Bowden got very lazy when Miami went on probation. He said once that he didn't have to do much because, "If you have the fastest horses, you're going to win the dadgum race." He had the horses, and Miami didn't. He didn't expect Miami to come back so strong and so fast. He never recovered.
