However, the specific situation here is that Northrup has been to FSU on multiple trips, they had no interest in him the entire year and that FSU has bagged Miami during Northrup's (and a few others) recruitment (told the kid that Miami knew its punishment, its major sanctions and UM is hiding it until after NSD). The Arkansas, the North Carolina, even the Ohio State were part of a kid looking around and Miami addressed it as part of doing business in college recruiting...FSU was a little personal due to the conversations between Northrup and Miami.*

They want Northrup to be a 'Cane, nothing has been pulled, but after he took that FSU visit I don't think they are sweating it anymore. They didn't follow up on him after.*"

so, Golden & co. were cool with him taking trips but are ****ed about him going to FSU since they are lying through their teeth about sanction knowledge, and are johnny come lately to the party? Is that what this says?
 
I think he is basically saying after the FSU trip our staff has stopped devoting resources to the kid. If he comes, he comes. We took it personally when he visited FSU after our staff heard the negative recruiting FSU was using against us to the kid and others. We did not follow up with the kid after he came back from FSU.

Wouldnt kids be able to transfer without having to sit anyway. The sanctions would come after they sign if we get any sanctions at all.

what dumbass would actually believe the school is waiting to announce sanctions?

you think they'd be able to keep the NCAA's ruling a secret?

c'mon now. You can't be this simple.

These coaches spend hours talking to these kids. Do you really think all those hours are spent asking "how you doin" or repeating the same sales pitch every ******* time? The coaches and kids talk about whatever comes up. Often times the question "so what other schools you looking at" etc...I mean seriously...any of you ever worked in sales? If you spend HOURS with a client a lot topics tend to get covered...and that includes the competition.

They spend A LOT more time talking about their school than they do other schools. It takes about 2 minutes to negative recruit another school and they all do it. Yes some flat out lie...yes some spend more than 2 minutes (maybe 10 minutes)...but at the end of the day their #1 goal is to sell their product and they do that
 
Why are we even discussing this like it's newsworthy? F$U and everyone else has been negative recruiting against us for decades. Sometimes with real ammunition, sometimes not. If The Noles were gonna use Marlin Barnes' death as a recruiting tactic you think they wouldn't use the very real threat of NCAA sanctions? So they are bull****ting that UM already knows the punishment.. yea it's stupid and dishonest, but they also told Anquan Boldin he'd win a Heisman playing QB.
