Good for Stoops

Gotta agree with the first take crew even though Ihate the SEC they are the best easily. There counting rings right now, I think Stoops is hating.

The only schools that can stop the run are UM, FSU, or USC. Maybe Texas. And thats because we have the in-bred athletes to go toe to toe with them. They know it too. Thats why it ****es me off when guys like Sony and Cook commit to them. In order to beat the SEC, we have to keep those caliber of athletes home. We have a good young core with Duke, Bush, Howard, etc..SEC type players. We gotta keep it going though. There was a time when the NC came through Miami or Tallahassee not Tuscaloosa or Baton Rouge. That time will come again.

If they let Louisville get ranked high after running through the most bull**** schedule in history than look out.

You think SEC teams don't play any OOC games now...

Stoops isn't wrong though. The SEC are above the rules. How we are dealing with a 2 year investigation for cheating that resulted in essentially a .500 record and yet Auburn won a national title whose father admitted he was bought and paid for and has ZERO investigative presence tells you all you need to know. ****, Oklahoma and Ohio State are both good ole boys and they still got zinged.

Your right they are above the rules that I agree with and the only way to stop it is to keep the best players in SFLA atUM.

I think the biggest bull**** thing witht he sec right now is that they have a one game advantage over everyone going into the season. If you lose one game in the SEC you still go the champ. game. you have to be undefeated if you are in any other contest. FSU could lose to us and beat UF. and if UF doesn't lose any other games = they would go. it is bs.

wut? ^^^

Agree with him totally. And it's obvious that in order to keep these kids home whether its here, UNC, VT, or wherever, we have to start winning, period. With them getting this ESPN contract, there will be more money to throw around to recruits (Ole Miss), and the snowball will continue. We gotta start winning, and start now. September 7th will be step 1.

It's obvious the E(S)S(E)P(C)N machine will continue to roll and do whatever they can to drag down any schools threatening to get in their way. Miami, Texas, Oklahoma, Southern Cal, **** even Louisville has to stay on top and challenge these guys when the time comes.

And since deer antler spray apparently isn't a banned substance, somebody order a round of dat ****tail!

"What are the bottom six doing?"

That's a fair point.

Four of those bottom six did so poorly last year that their coaches got fired. The year before, two SEC coaches were canned. The year before that, it was three.

I have made this point before, it is not a conference thing. It is top heavy thing. It is Bama, LSU and a random school (sometimes UF, UGA or Ark) that rotates thing.

This extra money is not going to help the bottom feeders play the elite, it will only help the bottom feeders against OOC (which will be some crap opponent anyway).

The SEC has some of the best but it ends there, no one is scared of the bottom 6 (Miss, Miss State, Vandy, Kentucky, Missou and Auburn).

Seems to start up front with the SEC. They've played faster teams, but their DL's and OL's eventually seem to dominate most of the time, unless you get a performance like Manziel's last year. Alabama didn't have an answer for him.

Bama, lsu, and florida with tebow made sec what it is. Their middle teir teams are good but georgia for example underachieves every year.

well that's a silly argument, what are the bottom 6 doing in any conference?

this is especially funny coming from a coach in the big 12, after texas and oklahoma, what else is there?

the pac-12 is oregon, usc and then also rans. nobody is afraid of washington, utah, washington st., colorado, etc. either. same in the big 10, illinois, indiana, northwestern (although they had a good team recently), purdue, etc. are all terrible. in the acc after fsu, miami, and clemson who is there? bc, wake, duke, unc, marlyand? those schools are jokes on the football field. and not flaming but miami hasn't been good in a decade and clemson is a perennial 5-loss team, same with fsu until the last 3 years. nobody's bottom 6 is doing anything, so it seems like a silly argument to use against the sec. the top and middle tier teams is what separates them from other conferences, nobody has argued otherwise.

Oh, Stoops and the hometown writer are ****ing in the wind. Obviously not an SEC fan here, but only a blind man or a guy giving a stump speech on the Sooner caravan would take on the SEC with such a weak-*** whine. The bottom six? What next, our cheerleaders are hotter than theirs or our marching band plays better show tunes? By the way, one of those bottom six just hired his brother to a fat contract. There's little doubt that the SEC currently reigns supreme and one of the reasons is Stoops' Oklahoma squad has turned irrelevant over the past 5-6 years. They're softer than a baby's cheek. They get their butts kicked in big games and bowl games. He's ****y now because Alabama is waltzing into his state recruiting a top quarterback.

As someone above noted, Miami is one of the teams with the potential to pose a threat the SEC. No secret that there's also a lot of hype behind the SEC - network and media pundit backing, suspicious of hanking panky that goes unpunished, over-zealous boosters and infatuated teenage prospects. But let's get over it. Work harder, play better, win big, take on the challenge and schedule the suckers. Take them on. Thankfully, AG has some life in his step and doesn't sit back all negative, whining like the still over-paid coach whose program has lost a step or two in Norman.

That isn't the point, the point is people believe that the SEC is some big bad conference...it isn't. It is a few schools and not the majority.

That is it. There are about 3-4 programs that do the majority of the damage, that is it.

It is still the strongest conference IMO but it really is because of a few teams...nothing to do with the bottom.
