Golden interview with Joe Rose

Recap:

-Doesn't worry about offense/defense. Likes playing O 1s vs D 1s.
-Looks at fundamental, whose performance withstands the pressure of a real game (scrimmage)
-Really impressed with Denzel tracking down Dorsett down on the long pass. Said he ran dead sprint from the time the ball left Williams hands.
-McGee played well and fought for the INT, VT with a great tackle on Clements
-What's elite about our incoming players? Just need to get the playmakers in the game, doesn't matter if they are Fr, So, etc
-All the kids coming in with have a great opportunity, not just playing but pushing the current guys
-Tracy Howard already studying the playbook. Golden asked him about a set and knew what the call was.
-A few operational problems with the QBs, thought Williams did okay; windy day
-Like what VT did, same with RRA. Didn't need the celebrations though
-Would have liked to see more big plays on offense but thought defense got after them
-Young LBs looked really good; Perryman, Kirby, Paul, Cornelius
-Tackling was much better; have taken a big commitment on tackling
-Scott put the ball in the wrong arm on his fumble; not doing the fundamental things they teach; thought he was pressing a little.
-5 WRs coming in (guess that means AJL is prep but not surprising)
-Deon Bush is already at the U 3 or 4 times a week, very committed to the game. Allowed to sign a release to workout with the team.
-6 or 7 of the new Fr think they will be here by May 17th (summer 1), rest will be here by June 28th.

Like hearing that about Bush. Encouraging to hear he is at the U 3 or 4 times per week working out.

+1 really loved hearing that about Bush. I'm sure he's learning the playbook now as well with Howard. That's a huge thing imo their speeding up their development so they can come in and contribute right away.
