Gino Torretta to be a guest coach at Paradise Camp

CanesInSight has learned that 1992 Heisman Trophy winner Gino Torretta is expected to be a "guest coach" at this weekend's Paradise Camp at the University of Miami.

I'm also told that Ray Lewis will be a guest speaker. It has been reported that he will coach, and he might, but Lewis is scheduled to give a speech.

Back when we were in high school, Denzel once said "if I ever meet Ray Lewis, I'll commit on the spot." That dude can have an impact on recruits.


Torretta? I don't think any 18 year old in SoFla knows who that is.

Actually you're onto something, Ken Dorsey's connection with Cam would help us greatly with recruiting, every Elite talent in high school football across the country loves Cam Newton. In fact, Deejay Dallas was just at his 7 on 7 camp that he holds in Georgia.
I like Torretta though, having a legendary Canes Heisman trophy winner is still huge for our program & having him coach the QB's will be great for us with the types of QB's we're recruiting.
Recruiting QB's isn't really the same as every other position, you don't really need a ton of flash & flare, they tend to respect prestige, results & success more so than just whatever's cool & trendy.

Will the speeches be recorded? I know it is a private event but the fans really want to see both Lewis's and Irvin's speeches.

I'm sure they well be released on you tube or something. Cant wait to get pumped.

I think it's perfect to bring back Gino. Heisman winner so it helps with these young kids. So the guest alumni include....

My little brother saw Calais Campbell in Coral Gables earlier in the week. If he's still in town, I'm sure he'll be there...

Also, for all of the jokes about The Rock showing up, Dwayne Johnson IS in Miami this week...

Bring both of them. The Rock would probably be bigger than Ray being there.
