FAU Vs. UM

Our first game of the year is less than a day away, and our first opponent FAU should really just be a glorified scrimmage (According to Bovada, Florida Atlantic is a 32-point underdog). Don't expect to see anything much more than a very plain offence from Miami with UF as our second game. FAU will be using up to four different QBs in the game. I doubt they will be able to get any offensive rhythm going so hopefully our defense can stop them early and often. This will be Miami's first ever match up with FAU, the 3 game series was put together with the help of and in honor of the great Howard Schnellenberger. According to Tim Reynolds of The Associated Press, Schnellenberger will be an honorary captain for both teams. As he helped start turning The "U" into the name brand it is today and helped build FAU from the ground up.The 'Canes will be honoring the 1983 national championship-winning team. Make sure to get to the game early because the first 5,000 fans Friday night to enter Sun Life Stadium and receive a glow-in-the-dark #FullSpeedAhead wristband. PLEASE NOTE: we have had an overwhelming response for this event so we encourage you to come early if possible.

Please come to the check-in table at the front entrance to the party where your name will be on our pre-registered list. One of our staff members will give you and your guest(s) wristbands and food tickets to enter the party. Each guest will receive one food ticket per person.

Legendary Coach Howard Schnellenberger & members of the 1983 National Championship Football Team is scheduled to join us during the event during the first hour. Shorty’s Bar-B-Q will be on hand cooking up some delicious food for you & a DJ will be on site as well. Cash bar will also be available. Other entertainment to include: The Band of the Hour, Spirit Squads, and Sebastian who are all scheduled to make an appearance sometime during the 6 o’clock hour.
