He is currently ranked at 200 on 247 composite.

Can you believe he will be the 11th ranked recruit committed to us based on the 247 composite?

He would have been in the top 8 in every other class since 2009 and we are not even done with this class yet!

He served as the head football coach at Miami University (1969–1973), the University of Colorado at Boulder (1974–1978), Northern Illinois University (1980–1983), and Indiana University (1984–1996), compiling a career college football record of 168–129–4.

He was also the assistant special teams coach of the New Orleans Saints from 2008 to 2012.

I think we will sign another full class of 25-26 kids in 2018.

Richt mentioned that we should have 41 on offense, 41 on defense and 2-3 for specials.

We currently have 80 players on Scholarship for 2017.
-39 on Offense and 39 on Defense and 2 Special teams.

So we start with 5 scholarships.

Seniors (10):
O: 6 (Berios, Herndon, McDermott, Darling, Linder, Odogwu)
D: 3 (Moten, Thomas, Harris)
S: 1 (Badgley)

This will give us 10 more scholarships for 2018.
10+5=15

Redshirt Seniors (11): (Asked to move on if they can't contribute or may transfer to start somewhere else)
O: 5 (Rosier, Gray, Harris, Langham, Jones)
D: 6 (Willis, Jackson, Owens, Smith, McCray, Mayes)

My guess is we will lose at least 7 of these guys.
15+7=22

Early NFL Entry: (guys who may be good enough to declare if they have a good season)
O: 1 (Walton, Cager)
D: 2 (McIntosh, Norton, Willis, Dean)

With our luck we will lose 3 guys...
22+3=25

Attrition: (Guys who get passed up or get messed up)
Jeff James 4/23/17
Jack Allison 4/25/17
Some of the guys mentioned above will be a part of the attrition for sure as they may not see a future at the U or get in trouble before they graduate. But we will most likely have another 3-4 underclassmen in addition to the players above who get kicked off the team or leave for various reason.

25+3=28 Total spots available for STORM18:

We need:
1 QB: Sitkowski (Should pick up at least one solid QB every class) - Done
2 RB: Lingard, Davis (Will need 2-3 RBs in the class) - Done
4 WR: Wiggins, Hightower, Pope (should pick up 3-4) - 1 More
2 TE: Jordan, Mallory (will need 2 in this class) - Done
4 OL: Scaife, Reed (Will need 4-5 to replace the graduating seniors)

3 DT: Silvera (Will need at least 3 depending on who leaves)
2 DE: Rousseau (Stacked but should pick up 2 more to replace Thomas & Trent)
2 LB: None (Should pick up at least 2 in every class, can replace based on attrition)
4 CB: Jobe, Frierson, Ivey (Need to upgrade with more Miami caliber players)
3 S: Hall, Russell (Stack up with such a strong class)

1 K: None (Need to replace Badgley)

Total: 28 (12 Off, 13 Def, 1 ST)

Updated 4/25/17 - Allison and James both transferring

Our QB numbers are now back to normal with:
RJr. Rosier (will be a grad transfer in 2018 if he is not the starter)
RSo. Shirreffs
Fr. Weldon
Fr. Perry
18 Sitkowski

Weldon will most likely Redshirt giving us 1 QB per class now that Jack is gone.

Safety is also more balanced as well with Redwine moving over and James gone:
Jr. Jaquan Johnson
Jr. Sheldrick Redwine
RSo. Robert Knowles (will transfer if he gets passed up by Carter or Smith)
So. Romeo Finley
Fr. Amari Carter
Fr. Derrick Smith
18 Gurvan Hall
18 Randy Russell

We will get at least 3 Safeties in 2018 and at least one will redshirt. Someone will transfer out before 2018.

Burns Decommits - 5/3/17

\

Jobe and Wiggins are the only 2 commits left who originally committed to the previous staff. Jobe reaffirmed his commitment last month.

Since Richt took over we lost:
Billy Joseph (#600)
Jalen Patterson (#560)
Thomas Burns (#1104)

Need Blades to recommit soon! (he decommitted before Richt)

Take Blades and Campbell and call it a day at DBs.classes.jpg

What a difference a year makes! Although lot will change from now to signing day...

SQUAD 17 was off to a great start ranking wise when Golden got fired at the end of October and Mark Richt took over in Dec 2015. We had 11 commits with 8 in the ESPN Top 300.
View attachment 42668

At the end of January last year Jon Ford was Mark Richt's first commitment for the SQUAD17 class and brought it back up to 11 commits and 8 ESPN top 300.
View attachment 42667

Perry would decommit a few days later before recommitting for good. We had just lost 4 star TE McKitty a month prior who eventually ended up at FSU. Momentum was slowing with the new staff spending most of their efforts to retain the SWAG16 class.

We had 8 ESPN top 300 at the time, although only 4 of those ended up in the final top 300 rankings.

This time last year was a rough time for recruiting or so it seemed...
12/13/15 McKitty decommits (4 Star)
1/30/16 Ford commits (4 Star at the time)
2/4/16 Perry decommits (4 Star)
2/12/16 Kearney decommits (3 Star)
2/12/16 Henderson commits (4 Star only on Scout, not as highly rated at the time)
2/16/16 Gibson commits (3 Star)
2/20/16 Dunning decommits (4 Star)
3/7/16 Scott commits (4 Star at the time)
3/8/16 Gamble decommits (4 Star)
3/19/16 Dingle commits (4 Star)
3/19/16 Perry recommits
3/21/16 Cade Weldon commits (3 Star)
3/21/16 Brian Polendy commits (3 Star)
4/11/16 Zach Dykstra commits (3 Star)

Our commits were not too **** and our decommits were higher rated...

By the end of March we had 14 commits but only 7 ESPN top 300 and 1 rival top 250...
View attachment 42671

We would eventually lose 7 of the 14 due to evaluations, 6 of them were ultimately replaced.

This year we currently have 8 commitments with 7 ESPN Top 300 prospects. A lot will change from now to signing day but we are definitely going for more quality this year especially with the early commitments.
C4S-2QvVUAATKNC.jpg:large

Although the class rankings are very similar at the same time last year, I feel better about this class knowing the current staff did the evaluations and will most likely not have to drop anyone and have a better chance of holding on to them. We dropped 6 (Gamble, Thompson, Ross, Roberts, Dunning, Kearney) of the 11 commitments from this time last year including 4 guys who were in the ESPN Top 300 at the time. Only one of the 4 remained in the Top 300 by the end of the season.

Wow, what a difference a couple of months can make...
C-HstZgUMAAW12G.jpg

Since I made that post on 2/10/17:
2/14/17 Nesta Silvera Commits - 3 Star
2/18/17 Randy Russell Commits - 3 Star
2/18/17 Camron Davis Commits - 4 Star
2/25/17 Artur Sitkowski Commits - 4 Star
3/1/17 Brian Hightower Commits - 4 Star
3/27/17 Mark Pope Commits - 4 Star
3/27/17 Gurvan Hall Commits - 4 Star
4/5/17 Cleveland Reed Commits - 4 Star
4/6/17 Jalen Patterson De-commits - 3 Star
4/16/17 Brevin Jordan Commits - 4 Star
4/19/17 Josh Jobe Shuts Down recruitment - 4 Star
4/21/17 Will Mallory Commits - 4 Star
4/22/17 Gregory Rousseau Commits - 3 Star
5/3/17 Thomas Burns De-commits - 3 Star

To recap, we lost 2 of our lowest ranked commits, got verbal commitments from 11 players including 8 Top 200 players based on 247 composite rankings. As if that was not enough, we got a one of our top guys who was rumored to leave to shut down his recruiting... all within 3 months!

I really wouldn't be opposed to only having 3 WRs in this class. And at this point I wouldn't be surprised to see us finish with Casey Thompson instead of Sits at QB, but we'll see how that all ends up playing out.
On the OL I think Dunlap and John Campbell will be the final 2 members of this OL class.

Defense, other than DB is hard to call. But obviously we lock up Campbell and Blades should be announcing at Paradise. So once we get those two studs, it will be all about keeping the 7 DBs we have committed.
LB I think we only get 2. I'm hoping it's Lewis and Reese. But next best option would be Amari Gainer if we could snag him from FSU.
DL Is anyones guess though. Kool clearly really likes Chatman and Oladele, so I think they end up in this class. Wouldn't be surprised if Kool landed Vincent/Parsons tbh....well i would be because getting either of those guys would be insane, but I wouldn't put it past Kool to get one of them.

Pretty quiet right now. Last time I hollered at him was about winning state in the 1 and 2. As far as I know, we're still right where we need to be, in the front...

Baxa captured two titles, starting it by winning the pole vault title and nearly breaking the Pasadena ISD record in the process. He officially won the pole vault at a height of 9-6, but he tried to break the 10-foot-1 record with a vault of 10-2. On his first and third tries, his body cleared the bar but his legs or feet brought the bar down.

Then in the 300 hurdles, he bagged the time of 44.77 seconds.

In the relays, Bondy won the 4 by 100 and 4 by 400. The 4 by 400 team consisted of Williams, Baxa, Jacob Salas and Ayala.
