CDC slashes Omicron estimate to 23% — a 50-point drop

Here we go again.

CDC has done an about face on its omicron estimates, with a huge 50 point drop in its estimate.

Most of you know I’m not a big conspiracy theory guy, although I have been critical of the CDC.

But this is just pathetic and unacceptable. How can you announce an estimate of over 70%, and then a week later change it to just barely 20%.

This is why the management of the CDC has to be thoroughly reviewed, including letting people go. This is just totally unacceptable.

I still don’t understand why in places where there are mask mandates, why is it not mandated that only N95 masks would be allowed. Or the “magic cone of protection” that descends upon one when eating at a restaurant, allowing the user safety against the virus while eating and being maskless. A more serious approach would be to shutter all restaurants. Therein is an example of economics and downstream politics outweighing the science.
