BUTCH RETURNS

Though he would never say it publicly, associates say ESPN analyst Butch Davis would love to return to UM as coach (the odds are against that), and a lot of Canes fans would love for that to happen. That subplot adds a layer of intrigue to Davis’ new weekly 30-minute call-in show with Jonathan Zaslow, Joy Taylor and his former player Brett Romberg on 790 The Ticket’s morning show at 7:30 Mondays.

When I interviewed Davis last December, he was critical of UM’s coaching, saying, among other things, that: “Either they can’t evaluate players or players have jumped ship or flunked out or whatever the deal…. The reality is somebody has to recruit and have an eye for talent and somebody has to coach the [expletive] out of them.”

In the debut of his radio show on Monday, Davis didn’t toss any barbs toward the UM staff. He said he “absolutely” misses coaching, “very much so.”

Less and less articles are well researched. Butch has already said publicly he would love to come back

Butch remains unemployed and coaching career is in limbo. He wouldn't love to return to Miami or any place that would give him a whistle.

Maybe. Just maybe, Butch doesn't want to coach at that s***hole called Pittsburg. Or New Jersey. Or Arkansas.

That "any place" concept is BS.

It's not like Butch is broke. He's doing fine. But unlike you, he may not be willing to take any position in any s***hole location out of desperation.

**** I love Butch Davis.

He's a real American. Thomas Jefferson consulted him before finalizing the Declaration of Independence.

Went from being run out of the NFL to being run out of UNC, to being out of coaching.

They're either incompetent or lazy. They pander to the least common denominator.

Butch David is smart and shrewd enough to know his dream job will be open soon. Why would he forsake a run at his dream job to pursue some dead end **** job when he doesn't have to?

If he doesn't get the UM gig that he's been angling for for the last two years then you can rest assured he'll start campaigning for other jobs that open up.

butch sees golden as someone that can't get the job done. he is waiting for his chance at redemption at the U. he can easily get a new job.

Not before guiding us out of a real probation and building the best college football team ever assembled.

How glorious would it be to see him standing behind a podium talking about how excited he is to be back at Miami. He would have all of CFB rustled
