Why, what is the connection? Never heard of him linked to Auburn.
If you remember years ago his mentor, Bobby Petrino had the chance to go to Auburn from Louisville when they were in Conference USA to replace Tommy Tubberville. Auburn tried to covertly do it with the president and AD flying to meet Petrino. Auburn fans started tracking the flights and found out where they were going. Petrino bailed cause out of fake loyalty from being Tuberville’s former oc. He ends up at Arkansas, the rest goes down in Harley History. I wonder if Brohm see that Petrino regretted not taking that job and is holding out for that job.

Pushing out the president was just part of a bigger push of taking control from booster Raymond Harbert who was a big supporter of Malzahn. If Malzahn loses his usual number of games (4-5) with 2 of those coming to uga and bama, he's gone. Make no mistake about it, axing the president shows that Jimmy Rane is exerting influence again. Rane was heavily involved in getting rid of Tuberville.
Honestly, it's just a matter of time. The same way it was with Tubs. Even if Malzahn wins enough games this year, the minute he has a mediocre season he's gone. The only way he's going to save his job is if he goes on a Saban/Dabo like stretch where his accomplishments simply won't let anyone fire him, and we all know that's not going to happen.

Yeah Rane and Harbert own two of the largest companies in Alabama. After Bryant Jr. at Alabama, they are two of the most influential boosters in the SEC. Them two cause problems for everyone at Auburn
